Hi, I am Alessandro Lo Prete.

I am a Threat Detection Engineer at Sysdig Threat Research Team. I focus on Linux runtime security and threat detection in cloud environments.

Previously I have researched and implemented novel anomaly detection methodologies for the European Space Agency.

Projects

Semantica

  • Local, semantic search engine for notes and documents.
  • It uses FAISS and SentenceTransformers to provide semantic search over markdown notes.
  • I built it to explore Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and create a smarter way to search my knowledge base.

APIS

  • ASPIS is an out-of-tree plugin for LLVM to harden against Single-Event Upsets (SEUs).
  • Implemented Docker and Docker Compose for seamless installation and testing.
  • Expanded test coverage.
